How to Use Monurol 3 Gm Sachet
- Dissolve the entire contents of one sachet in approximately half a glass (50-75 ml) of cold water.
- Stir gently until the powder is completely dissolved.
- Drink the solution immediately after preparation.
- For best absorption, it is recommended to take Monurol on an empty stomach, at least 2-3 hours after your last meal and 2-3 hours before your next meal.
- Optimally, take it before bedtime after emptying your bladder to allow the medication to remain in the bladder overnight.
Caution & Warnings
- Monurol is indicated only for uncomplicated lower urinary tract infections. It is not suitable for complicated UTIs, pyelonephritis, or perirenal abscesses.
- Do not use if you have a known allergy to fosfomycin or any of the other ingredients.
- Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding before taking this medication.
- Patients with severe kidney impairment may require dosage adjustment or alternative treatment.
- If you experience severe or persistent diarrhea during or after treatment, consult your doctor immediately as it may be a sign of a more serious condition.
- Interactions: Concomitant use with metoclopramide may reduce the effectiveness of Monurol. Consult your doctor or pharmacist about all medications you are taking.
- Complete the full single dose as prescribed, even if your symptoms improve rapidly, to ensure complete eradication of the infection.
- Keep out of reach of children.
